“California Scenes” by Caroline McClintic

Artist’s reception: Fri, Oct. 4, 5-8pm
In this series, Caroline experiments with watercolor on wood panels; transparent color interacting with the natural flow of wood grain to create beautiful, sometimes semi-abstract paintings of the beautifully diverse California landscape.
"I love the transparency and organic flow of watercolor, and I really enjoy the challenge of painting on wood, letting the transparent color stain the wood and incorporating the grain pattern into the composition."
After working as a California architect, Caroline returned to her passion of painting. She is especially drawn to cities and textures. Caroline is a member of the Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society and the Pacific Art League and has won many local awards. She currently lives in Los Altos.
